Many of Barcelona's museums are free on Sunday
Barcelona invites you to take a fascinating journey through the art at the best museums in Barcelona. Discover the finest collection of Romanesque mural paintings in the world, enjoy Modernisme, and be surprised by the most contemporary art and creation. Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya
The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya exhibits a collection of Romanesque mural paintings that is unique in the world. It is also a centre of reference for Modernisme, with works by Gaudí from Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família. From the roof-viewpoint you can enjoy 360º views of Barcelona.
Admission is free every Saturday from 3pm, and on the first Sunday of every month. Admission is also free on 11 and 24 Sep, as well as on 18 May, coinciding with International Museum Day.
Museu Picasso
The Museu Picasso of Barcelona, opened on 9 March 1963, is the reference centre for Pablo Picasso’s formative years. The 4,355 works of the Museu’s permanent collection reveal the genius of the young artist.
Admission is free every Sunday from 3pm to 7pm, and the first Sunday of every month all day, as well as the following dates: 12 Feb, 18 May and 24 Sep.
CCCB
The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) is a space for exhibitions and activities focused on the city and contemporary culture. A centre open to cinema, music, the performing arts and everything related to artistic experimentation. Come by and discover what we have on.
Admission is free every Sunday from 3pm to 8pm, and on the following dates: 12 Feb, 17 May (Museum Night), 18 May and 24 Sep.
Museu de la Música
Finally rehoused in the Auditori concert hall in 2007 after six years in hibernation, the Music Museum's collections comprise over 1,600 instruments, displayed like precious jewels in red velvet and glass cases, along with multimedia displays, interactive exhibits and musical paraphernalia. With pieces spanning the ancient world to the modern day, and including instruments from all corners of the world, the museum's high note is the world-class collection of 17th-century guitars.
Admission is free every Sunday from 3pm, and the first Sunday of every month all day, as well as the following dates: 12 Feb, 18 May, 21 Jun, 24 Sep and 22 Nov.
